Evening Prayer and Compline Service
We have a Zoom Evening Prayer each Wednesday at 6:30 pm and a Zoom Compline service each Saturday at 6:30 pm.
Compline is a liturgy of the Daily Office (Book of Common Prayer, p. 127), a beautiful one that is the final church service of the day in the Christian tradition of canonical hours. The English word Compline comes from the Latin completorium, signifying the completion of the day. At St. James’, we pray Compline on Saturday evenings in recognition that, with the setting of the sun, the Sabbath rest of Sunday begins. The liturgy lasts for about half an hour and includes parish intercessions. You are welcome to come once, occasionally, or often to Compline!
