Join St. James’, Hyde Park to help the New York Haiti Project send 50,000 meals to our neighbors at St. Luke’s Episcopal School in Matel, Haiti!
We are signed up to pack food in a two-hour shift from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18th at the Haitian Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan, 1858 Hunt Avenue, Bronx NY 10462. We’ll coordinate carpooling from St. James’ Church, too. Sign up to join the St. James’ volunteer group here: https://forms.gle/j22sLi1WUnARihh16.
This project will bring together thousands of volunteers from all over the Episcopal Diocese of New York. This food packing event is possible thanks to generous grants from Trinity Wall Street and Calvary-St. George Episcopal Churches. We’ll have some fun while we do some good! The New York Haiti Project will serve Haitian soup and play Haitian kompa music. We’ll have t-shirts. This is a great way to serve, learn, and make new friends in the season of Lent!
Please note: If you want to help on March 18th, but can’t join the St. James’ group from noon to 2, you can sign up for any time between 8 am and 6 pm at the Church of the Good Samaritan as an individual.
