The Hyde Park Food Pantry was a long-time combined mission of the local churches of Hyde Park, with St. James’ taking a governing role. It became an independent non-profit organization in 2020.
St. James’ still supports the pantry through Outreach Committee fundraising and the Hyde Park Community Garden, and parishioners regularly volunteer there.
The pantry is located at 28 Harvey Street, Hyde Park, NY 12538, and is open on Fridays between the hours of 9:30 am – 11:30 am.
In 2021 Rural and Migrant Ministry (RMM) celebrated 40 years of advocating and supporting rural and migrant farmworkers and their families.
The Ministry offers many programs for children and teens. At the end of their summer programs and camps, St. James’ mission is to support these students by collecting school supplies and financial donations which are used towards purchasing the specific school supplies needed by the students for their return to school.
The New York Haiti Project is a ministry building bonds of love between New York and Haiti through the Episcopal Church. Through this partnership, St. James’ supports St. Luke’s Episcopal School and Church in Martel Haiti. The school currently serves 112 students pre-K through 7th grade, with a goal of adding a grade level every year until the school serves 12th grade.
