 Meet Mother Meredith:

The Rev. Meredith Kadet Sanderson joined our ministry in 2022. She loves to talk about Jesus, sing, bike, and hang out in St. James’ own Hyde Park Community Garden!

Mother Meredith came to us from the Diocese of Central New York, where she served as chief of staff to the bishop, diocesan director of communications, and priest to Christ Episcopal Church in Jordan, New York. Prior to beginning ministry with the Diocese of CNY in 2015, Mother Meredith was director of programs for Episcopal Charities in the Diocese of New York.

She currently serves the Diocese of New York as chair of the Commission on Congregational Life for Mission, as a member of Diocesan Council, and as a member of the Ordination Task Force, and is also in the process of becoming a trainer with the College for Congregational Development.

Mother Meredith holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. As a graduate of Bard College, a former farm intern with the Community of the Holy Spirit in Brewster, and a friend of Holy Cross Monastery, Mother Meredith is right at home with St. James’ in the Hudson Valley.

She and her husband, Christopher Carter Sanderson, a theater artist, are parents to Max, age 6, and wranglers to the family dog, a loud Jack Russell terrier named Charlie.
