DESCRIPTION:Rowan Williams\, past Archbishop of Canterbury\, has said of Holy Week: It is “a week when we discover in a way we don’t at any other time just who we are and who God is.” \nThis four-week series\, led by Mother Meredith\, will explore the services of Holy Week and the Great Vigil of Easter\, preparing you to more fully take part in this rich experience that expresses the heart of our life and faith. Together we’ll explore Scripture\, our prayer book\, and some sermons\, art\, and poetry inspired by Holy Week. \nThis study meets in the Wilks Room on Thursday evenings at 7 pm\, beginning March 13th. After a grave illness in which she had visions of Christ\, Julian penned her experiences—the first recorded works by a woman in English. We will take a look at a new translation of her “Revelations” in Mirabai Starr’s “Showings” (available at abe books\, used; and Amazon\, new). DESCRIPTION:Join St. James’\, Hyde Park to help the New York Haiti Project send 50\,000 meals to our neighbors at St. Luke’s Episcopal School in Matel\, Haiti! \nWe are signed up to pack food in a two-hour shift from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday\, March 18th at the Haitian Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan\, 1858 Hunt Avenue\, Bronx NY 10462. We’ll coordinate carpooling from St. James’ Church\, too. Meredith Kadet Sanderson. These psalms\, which deal in uncomfortable emotions including complaint\, grief\, despair\, and anger—alongside trust and hope—can be a path that deepens our prayer lives and draw closer to our loving God. \nThursdays at 7:00 pm: \nMarch 2nd at St. Margaret’s\nMarch 9th at St. James’\nMarch 16th no study\nMarch 23rd at St. Margaret’s\nMarch 30th at St. James’ \nYou may join either in-person or online.
