DESCRIPTION:Julian of Norwich\, an anchoress in the 14th century\, was a mystic\, teacher and mentor. After a grave illness in which she had visions of Christ\, Julian penned her experiences—the first recorded works by a woman in English. We will take a look at a new translation of her “Revelations” in Mirabai Starr’s “Showings” (available at abe books\, used; and Amazon\, new). Together we’ll explore Scripture\, our prayer book\, and some sermons\, art\, and poetry inspired by Holy Week. \nThis study meets in the Wilks Room on Thursday evenings at 7 pm\, beginning March 13th.
