SUMMARY:Centering Prayer (Church)
DESCRIPTION:Centering prayer is a type of meditation with a long history in the Christian tradition\, beginning with the 14th century English monk who wrote The Cloud of Unknowing. But you don’t need to be a monk or a mystic to practice centering prayer and experience its benefits. Lent is the perfect time to enter the quiet of this practice. Beginners welcome. Sessions will last about 30 minutes. Tuesdays in Lent at 6 pm in the church (starting March 18th). \nLed by Tessa Kale\, who has taken many retreats on centering prayer with Cynthia Bourgeault and is a participant in her Wisdom School.

SUMMARY:Lenten Book Study: Julian of Norwich (Wilks Room)
DESCRIPTION:Julian of Norwich\, an anchoress in the 14th century\, was a mystic\, teacher and mentor. After a grave illness in which she had visions of Christ\, Julian penned her experiences—the first recorded works by a woman in English. We will take a look at a new translation of her “Revelations” in Mirabai Starr’s “Showings” (available at abe books\, used; and Amazon\, new). Come and join us as we seek to deepen our relationship with God. We will meet in the Wilks room from 10:30 to 11:30 during the Tuesdays of Lent.\n(Co-hosts\, Megan Bean and Bobbie Wells)

SUMMARY:Lenten Study: Exploring Holy Week and Easter (Wilks Room and Parish Hall)

Each evening will conclude with Compline (the Church’s night prayer) at 8 pm. \nMarch 13: Exploring Palm/Passion Sunday \nMarch 20: Exploring Maundy Thursday \nMarch 27: Exploring Good Friday & Holy Saturday \nApril 3: Exploring The Great Vigil of Easter \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:"Mary Strong" Rosary Prayer Group (Wilks Room)
DESCRIPTION:The “Mary Strong” rosary prayer group meets on the first Sunday of each month. We meet in the Wilks Room in the Parish House at 9:15 between our 8 and 10 am services. All are welcome! \nNever prayed the rosary before? No problem! This group will teach you everything you need to know. \nYes\, Episcopalians can and do pray the rosary! Just as we ask our friends to pray for us\, we can ask the saints—that great cloud of witnesses—to intercede on our behalf. Praying the rosary draws us close to the heart of St. Mary the God-bearer as we meditate on Jesus’ ministry\, crucifixion\, resurrection and ascension.
