SUMMARY:Lenten Study: Meeting God in the Gospel of Mark (Wilks Room)
DESCRIPTION:Mother Meredith will offer a 3-session Lenten Book Study on the Gospel of Mark on Thursdays in Lent\, March 7th\, 14th\, and 21st at 7 pm. We’ll meet in the Wilks Room. Each session will be followed by a 15-minute service of Compline (the Church’s bedtime prayer) at 8 pm. \nWe’ll read and discuss Mark’s Gospel alongside Archbishop Rowan Williams’ book Meeting God in Mark. This short (just 75 pages!) but mighty study book is available for about $11 from any bookseller or massive online retailer. Please read the introduction and first chapter prior to the first session. \nDownload the Lenten Reading Plan for the Gospel of Mark\, from Meeting God in Mark. There is a reading for each day\, Monday to Saturday\, and a Sunday reflection. Starting on Ash Wednesday and reading a chapter or less each day\, you’ll finish the Gospel of Mark by Easter Sunday.
